No. I didn't move but my domains are and this is the first one to go. As great and wonderful as Dreamhost was (insert sarcasm) I just couldn't deal with the silly downtime any more. I'm moving everything (well almost everything) over to MediaTemple and sharing hosting with my good friend Tammy of Green Cheeky Monkey. Anyhow I moved the DNS information over a couple of hours ago but it's so busy here at the new gig I didn't have time until now to write. I'm trying to incorporate the other worlds I live in like tumblr, ThisNext, ma.gnolia.com and Flickr into this blog as well but as with everything personally web related it takes much longer than I'd like to. Those other tools especially tumblr make blogging easy in part because it's not a full blog - it's snippets. For now enjoy someone else's design, all my old posts and my weak attempt at aggregation (see bottom).

I was initially only going to make Elizabeth Faulkner's Chocolate Chip and Espresso Cookies but now Michael and I are going to team up and make desserts for the Iron Chef Tabasco Event. Let me know if any of these recipes are tempting?

Red Fire Chocolate Chips
http://www.vosgeschocolate.com/product/red_fire_chips/exotic_chocolate_chips
I'm going to make a small batch of the Chocolate Chip and Espresso Cookies with these chips. Yummy!

Chocolate Chipotle Brownies
http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_29921,00.html
I haven't delved into the world of brownies too much but I figured this would be a fun foray into them.

Mexican Chocolate Cookies
http://bakingbites.com/2005/07/more-of-maida-mexican-chocolate-cookies/
Honestly what I like about these cookies is their versatility. They can be had with ice cream, coffee or milk! I can and should make these up to a week before the event. They are better once the flavors have had some time to meld and you don't necessarily need to eat these all at once! Make as much or as little as you need.

(Virgin) Bloody Mary Sorbet
http://www.tabasco.com/taste_tent/recipes/recipe.cfm?id=154&catid=3&name=Virgin_Bloody_Mary_Sorbet
This will be one interesting recipe. It's only right that along with the cookies and brownies we offer something cool yet spicy.

Pequin Chili Chocolate Cupcakes
http://cupcakeblog.com/index.php/2008/02/pequin-chili-chocolate-cupcakes/
I know what you're thinking "Of course she's going to make cupcakes!" Not so fast. This recipe is a bit above me so I probably won't make this. Besides if I make cupcakes then something else has got to go and that's not happening.

The secret ingridient (duh): Tabasco sauce! I will be one of the judges along with Michael, Uncle DanDan and Auntie Jarret. The chefs include Janet, Merv, Vicky, Eugenie, Sheri and The Great Monica. Kids include (in birth order) Dylan, Tyler, Mya and Aidan. I asked to be a judge since my cooking will probably kill you and have been asked instead to bake cookies for the event. Showdown to happen at the end of May or early June! Stay tuned!

In other news I'm taking the week of my birthday (May 19 - 23) off to clean and relax. I need to get some time in before my parents return from Thailand because being off when they're here will drive me batty.

It's been busy thus the lack of updates. Let's see...what the heck happened this month?

San Diego
I went to San Diego for a long weekend to see my favorite California girl Lizzie. We pretty much hit the same places I went to on my first visit since I loved them so much. It was unfortunately colder than I had expected which was no fun. On the up side she took me to eat In-N-Out Burger and fish tacos. I can't wait to go back and visit her again and perhaps make use of her party pool. Lizzie and her husband moved into a house that lies high up on Dictionary Hill and has the most awesome view of San Diego.

Jury Duty
I was waiting for the day this would happen to me and it did. I got a summons for jury duty. I had it easy actually. I showed up, filled out some paperwork and hung around typing away on my laptop so that by 1pm I got my official letter to go home. Jury duty rocks! K coincidentally also had jury duty the very same day I did but in Brooklyn.

Yucky
I official do not feel well today. My throat is unhappy with me and I keep coughing like crazy. Tea...I need tea.

It's official, Jackson Heights is now an upcoming neighborhood. I knew it would only be a matter of time before this happened and it sucks. It gets even worse because the Starbucks is in even closer walking distance than my laundromat! Oy! And for further amusement I looked up the distance of the Starbucks from my house and it is roughly about 400 ft away.

This is one of the most hilarious commercials I've ever seen. I kid you not but I watched the whole thing in awe and disbelief.

I know...it's been forever since I last wrote. What can I say it's super busy between all the holiday engagements, full time job and freelance work. I am a woman with little time. With that said I thought I could amuse you with this entry. Here are my resolutions for 2008 in no particular order.

1. No new handbag for at least 6 months.
Since my purchase of this Johnny Cupcakes delight (at 10% off too) I can't really rationalize getting any other handbag for a long time. While it is probably not my most expensive bag (I think that might go to one of my Kate Spade pieces) it is by far a super fun bag and one of my favorites!

2. Going green.
I'm going to try and do my part to help save the earth. This includes using a basket or reusable bag to carry my groceries or purchases and calling up every catalog or piece of junk mail I get and asking to be taken off their mailing list.

3. Less freelance, more time.
That's right, for once in my life I'm going to fire some of my clients. When making/updating websites for certain clients doesn't make me much money any more and takes way more time than it godly should then it's time for me to give you the boot. I am tired of dealing with flip flopping clients who send changes at whim. I no longer have the patience to deal with small little one off websites that are not include friendly. Sorry but I've become an include girl.

4. Losing weight.
I would not say I was fat by far BUT I am probably 10 pounds heavier than my ideal weight. The ideal weight is the number that allows me to fit into my jeans and capris again. The Latina side of me enjoys having curves.

I may update this list because I have to get back to maintaining a very large pharmaceutical website right now but for the moment these definitely stand.
