In the next couple of months I'm going to start a new blog with a new domain. Instead of trying to reinvent t0k3n8si8n6irl (as I have for years) I'm just going to start fresh. I'll do more microblogging with the occasional normal blog. We'll see how that goes. If that fails miserably then I'm taking the blog to tumblr.
So today I get a call on my cell. Look at the caller ID and immediately try to take out my battery so I can stop the damn thing. I know what you're thinking. Can't you just hit ignore or silence and have them go to voicemail. Well yes, I could do that but then it wouldn't be as dramatic. I'm all about the drama folks! The phone finally stops vibrating and I take the battery out so I feel - cleansed. That didn't work so well because you still left a message and then you finally got the bright idea that maybe a text message would work. What was the huge problem you ask my faithful readers? The website I put up for her wasn't working. Holy shit! The tiny 6 page informational website isn't working? OMG someone call in the fucking coast guard! Better yet call the President. This is major people!
I went to check the site and it was fine. For those of you not as intune to the world of the interweb sometimes websites go down. Usually it's just for seconds or minutes and you probably hit it right when it when down. Generally they are back up in no time. I wrote her an email and told her all this. The best two lines from the email: "If you find this goes on for hours or days then it's a problem and then contact me. Otherwise let the internet breathe and check on it again or on another computer."
The view from the web cam.
Back Story: We don't have a receptionist here at the office so my section of the office lets people in by using a special clicker. We decided to use our web cam to monitor people coming in because sometimes some of those people are my own coworkers who forgot their key fob and I am tired of getting up from my desk to see who it is. Totally breaks my concentration. So as you can see people are getting creative.
I've been experimenting with other blogging possibilities in an effort to blog more. Sitting down and writing a blog takes more of my time than I can afford right now. Right now I'm liking tumblr. I can send blogs via my phone which makes blogging so much easier. Check out my tumblr site.
Penny, Michael and Mya after Sunday brunch.
I'm in Northern California for a few days sightseeing and relaxing. Michael has already fallen asleep from our long day at Alcatraz and Fisherman's Wharf. Below some photos from today's adventure!

Our swanky hotel on the edge of Chinatown.

Welcome to Fisherman's Wharf!

A view of Alcatraz from the boat.

Michael at the main entrance of Alcatraz.

I am so putting this sign up when I have kids.

How talented am I? I managed to take a photo of both Michael and I AND the sign.

I look way too happy to be in a jail cell.

Enjoying some street food at Sabella & LaTorre's. Michael thought I wanted to sit down and have out little meal sitting down in warmth but I refused!

Menu for K's amusement.

Irish coffee at The Buena Vista. Michael finished mine.
